Trumbull poker group to be in Esquire - 2004-02-07
There are no neon signs, no green felt, no fountains, and the only sculptures are seen in Potty Court. Trumbull College may not be Vegas, but for pure poker action at Yale, nothing beats the 'Bull. According to Rich Berger, TC '05, the E-mail list for the Trumbull game has exceeded 70 and continues to grow. Berger is an opinions editor of the Herald. What used to be a small-time game between Trumbull enthusiasts has developed into a campus-wide contest. On any given night, up to a dozen of Yale's best rounders can be found in the Trumbull buttery, testing the odds at no-limit Texas Hold-'Em. Now even Esquire Magazine wants in on the action.

After holding a recent Master's Tea in Branford, author and former World Series of Poker contestant Jim McManus joined the group for a three-hour game. He liked what he saw.

World Poker Tour On NBC Scores Opposite Super Bowl Pregame Show - 2004-02-07
The debut of the WORLD POKER TOUR on network television turned out to be a great success. Establishing that the public's interest in the World Poker Tour has only just started to grow, THE TRAVEL CHANNEL WORLD POKER TOUR BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS on NBC scored a whopping 3.0 overnight rating on Sunday, watched by more than ten million estimated viewers.

Second only to the Super Bowl pre-game show in the 4-6 p.m. (ET) time slot, The World Poker Tour showed that its ratings juggernaut on The Travel Channel is no fluke.
