Deadwood again to be home of Chinese New Year party - 2004-02-02
One of the more colorful events in Deadwood will take place Feb. 6-7, with the Chinese New Year celebration at Miss Kitty's Chinatown Cafe at 649 Main Street in Deadwood.

Management of Miss Kitty's has hosted this historic event for 14 years in an effort to make people more aware of the influence the Chinese people had on Deadwood in late 1800s and early 1900s.

Casino general manager Tom Hill will open up Miss Kitty's poker room for live animal displays matching the particular animal being honored each year.

TIUTCHEV DISPLAY MYSTIFIES CONNECTIONS - 2004-02-02
Tiutchev was on Sunday morning said to be shaken but otherwise alright after his uncharacteristic fall at the second last fence at Ascot on Saturday.

Connections of the 11-year-old are at a loss to know why he suddenly came under pressure at the end of the back straight in the Servo Computer Services' Ascot Chase.

Jerry Wright, who fronts the Liars Poker Partnership which owns Tiutchev, said: "We were absolutely gutted because he was going for a third win in the race and it had been his target all season.
