It was once the "Battle of the Network Stars," before it was "Home Run Derby," "Celebrity Boxing"
and the XFL. Now it's poker, the most recent pseudo
sport taking various dimly lit clusters of your satellite uplink by storm.

NBC will air the World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions from Las Vegas this afternoon while CBS is thigh-pad deep into its Super Bowl pregame telethon. The concept_poker, not interminable pregame blather_isn't exactly original thinking. The Travel Network began airing the World Poker Tour last March, a brainstorm that has since been knocked off by ESPN and Bravo.

A full house cited at park poker game - 2004-01-31
A local judge recused himself from an illegal gambling case Friday, delaying the initial court appearance for two state park officials, a Chester County school board member and four others cited earlier this week for what police say was an illegal poker game at the Chickasaw State Park.

General Sessions Judge Larry McKenzie recused himself from hearing the case and another judge will have to be appointed. No future court date has been scheduled.
