Northern Ireland poker players today were found to be the most profitable players in the UK, pipping the intelligentsia of London to the top spot.

The research - the first of its kind - comes from a comprehensive study of more than 10,000 regular UK online Poker players at Ladbrokespoker.com, the busiest Poker site in Europe.

For every £1,000 staked, Northern Ireland players win an extra £19.30 compared to the national average, and a whopping £37.20 more than Poker players from Yorkshire and Humberside, the region with the poorest Poker players in the UK.
