A Creativity Machine used two neural networks to study toothbrush design and function. A brainstorming session between the two produced the idea to cross the bristles of the toothbrush for optimal results. That toothbrush became the Oral-B CrossAction toothbrush.

In one weekend, a Creativity Machine learned a sampling of some of Thaler's favorite Top 10 hits from the past thirty years and then wrote 11,000 new songs. Some are decent, Thaler said. ... Other offerings are the musical equivalent of a painting of dogs playing poker ...

Investment bank duo sing bright tune through dark time - 2004-01-27
When we last caught up with David Maney and Phil Seefried, they were starting an investment bank in November 2001. Didn't seem like very good timing.

But Headwaters MB has turned out quite all right, doing a dozen deals in a bit more than two years, six of them in 2003. Maney says the firm has surpassed its business plan in revenue, with a 1,700 percent gain over 2002, and showed net income last year.
