Inside Gaming Column: Fool Thinks Harrah's May Pitch Horseshoe - 2004-01-26
The Motley Fool last week speculated Harrah's Entertainment may be shopping Binion's Horseshoe around. For roughly $50 million, Harrah's is picking up the brand it wanted and the prestige of owning the World Series of Poker.

The Fool said investors abound for purchasing the Horseshoe on the prayer of profits. The Fool cited the sale of Lady Luck and Golden Nugget as examples of private buyers being willing to invest in downtown Las Vegas. And Boyd Gaming Corp., which already has three downtown casinos, could be interested in Binion's Horseshoe, the Fool said.

Woman Wins Poker Jackpot - 2004-01-26
A Quinn woman received the highest jackpot ever paid on a table game in Deadwood on Saturday night when she scored a royal flush at Silverado Gaming Est. & Restaurant. She won more than $124,000.

Terry McDonnell, a 48-year-old mother of five and grandmother of six who ranches with her husband north of Quinn, had been playing Caribbean stud poker at the Silverado for about an hour and was ahead $80 when her bonus bet paid off in a big way.
