Harrah's To Continue World Series Of Poker - 2004-01-26
Over $20 million in official prize money is anticipated to be up for grabs at the 2004 World Series of Poker at Binion's casino, according to Gary Loveman, president and chief executive officer of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.

Loveman said at a press conference that the legendary event that annually draws thousands of poker enthusiasts from dozens of countries to the downtown Las Vegas casino will continue this year as it has since the late casino legend Benny Binion kicked off the tournament in 1970.

The World Series of Poker, widely regarded as the most prestigious competition of its kind, has been held at Binion's Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas since its inception. Harrah's agreed to purchase the casino after it closed earlier this month.

Conditions Ideal For 12th Snowmobile Poker Run - 2004-01-26
With plenty of snow on the ground and a weather outlook calling for moderating winter temperatures this week, conditions seem to be ideal for the Sault Snowmobile Association's 12th Poker Run and Rally.

Association spokesman Mike Cottle said this year's event features a number of new wrinkles -- a swap meet, silent auction and an "Ironman" distance event -- in addition to the group's yearly poker run.

Registration and the first day of running starts at noon Friday at the Quality Inn on Business I-75. All the weekend's activities are centered at the Quality Inn.
