Average Loss On Pokies $583 A Year - 2004-01-20
Adult residents in Kent Town and Norwood are losing an average $1338 yearly on poker machines,
a report by the state's gambling watchdog has shown. The two suburbs, which have the highest loss rates in the metropolitan region, also have the greatest concentration of poker machines – 42.5 machines for every 1000 adults.

In Christies Beach, adult residents lose an average $1203 a year, in Glenelg $1033 and in Salisbury $931. At Port Adelaide, which has one of the highest concentrations of poker machines – 29 for every 1000 adults – the average losses are $910 an adult.
