A colourful cast of characters will converge in the elite Crown Casino in Melbourne for the championships, aka ‘the Aussie Millions’, to compete for the main event prize pool of a cool $1.5 AUD million this weekend.

Gran wins £265,000 poker prize - 2004-01-14
Gran Flo O'Connor is celebrating a quarter-of-a-million pounds poker jackpot - from a gamble of just £1.

The 64-year-old florist (pictured) is planning to travel the world and treat her grandchildren.

Flo was dealt a winning hand at the Grosvenor Casino, West Derby Road, Tuebrook, on her first visit of the New Year.

She bet an extra £1 to enter a national accumulative poker game which linked her cards to 32 other casinos around the country.
