Penrith insolvency tipped - 2004-01-13
The financial foundation of premiers Penrith will start to crumble in the next 12 months, according to Panthers Leagues club supremo Roger Cowan.

Cowan has forecast a bleak future with the implementation of the State Government's new poker machine tax, claiming an independent report compiled by insolvency experts Ferrier Hodgson had "under-estimated" its impact.

Cowan's comments come amid the salary cap debate sparked by the Sydney Roosters' threat to take legal action if it is not increased.

Former Aristocrat CFO takes action in NSW IRC - 2004-01-13
Poker machine producer Aristocrat Leisure’s new chief executive officer Paul Oneile has not been given much of a chance to settle into the top job with the company being hit by two cases of legal action in his first week.

The company on Wednesday confirmed that former chief financial officer Lionel Jeyaraj had taken a case of inadequate termination payment to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.

The former employee's position was terminated in April after Aristocrat downgraded its 2002 profit forecasts by $28.8m.
