Klamath Chamber president of 10 years hands over reins - 2004-01-11
The Klamath Chamber of Commerce made major changes at its December meeting by appointing new directors and officers for 2004.

Debbie Thompson, Trees of Mystery owner and 10-year president of the chamber, is handing over the lead reins to Dave Gross, owner of the Historic Requa Inn.

An inscribed brass gavel was offered to Thompson in honor of her 10 years of service and commitment
to the Klamath Chamber as well as the whole community of Klamath.

During those 10 years, Thompson said membership jumped from 12 to 50 members. A website for the organization was created, www.klamathcc.org , and a brochure was published. In addition, fund-raisers such as jetboat races, a poker run and boat rodeo allowed the chamber to provide scholarships to Margaret Keating valedictorian students and graduating Del Norte High School students from Klamath.
